Veronica McLaurin-Brown has 34 years of experience in the New Hanover County Schools. She has worked with PreK-12 students and teachers as an educator, a building administrator, and as the Special Assistant to the Superintendent for Eliminating the Achievement Gap.
Peter Rawitsch is a retired educator with 42 years of experience in elementary schools in New Hampshire and upstate New York. He taught 1st grade for 38 years. He is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in Early Childhood.
Barbara Avery Garrow retired to Wilmington in 2020 and became involved in the Love Our Children project because of the life-long harm caused by out of school suspensions of young children. She has raised three sons and has worked in both the state, private, and nonprofit sectors during her professional career as well as a volunteer and Board Member in several nonprofit organizations.
